Weapon Systems Test and Evaluation (T&E)
SENTEL engineers support developmental (DT&E) and operational (OT&E) test and evaluation of military conventional weapons and aircraft systems. SENTEL’s engineering expertise includes:
| • |
Pre-test analysis, planning, event conduct |
|---|---|
| • |
Post-test analysis, and documentation, modeling and simulation |
| • |
Test data collection, reduction, analysis, and archival system development |
| • |
Identification of improvements for future events |
We develop test objectives, measures, and criteria and we specify the data elements needed to satisfy those objectives. We design test missions and prepare the plans and detailed procedures for those missions. Our engineers then develop the data collection, reduction, storage, and analysis plans. We coordinate with the applicable test range and data reduction resources to ensure that aircraft, simulated threat systems, instrumentation, and equipment are reserved and on site for the events. SENTEL supports the detailed analysis and preparation of final reports, and we provide recommendations for system employment or subsequent testing.
We have helped assess electronic warfare systems such as radar warning receivers and jammers; electro-optical (EO) systems such as infrared (IR) seekers and sensors; Precision-Guided Weapons (PGWs) such as the High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) and the IR Maverick missile; munitions systems including the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) bomb and small diameter bomb; and countermeasure systems including chaff and flare dispensers and missile warning systems.
