Joint Test and Evaluation
The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E) Program exists to:
| • |
Assess the interoperability of service systems in joint operations and explore potential solutions to identified problems |
|---|---|
| • |
Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvements in joint technical and operational concepts |
| • |
Validate testing methodologies having joint-service application
|
| • |
Evaluate technical and operational performance of systems under realistic joint operational conditions
|
| • |
Provide data from joint field tests and exercises to validate models, simulations, and testbeds |
SENTEL has supported JT&E Programs in Joint Electromagnetic Interference (JEMI); Joint Camouflage, Concealment, and Deception (JCCD); and Joint Combat Search and Rescue (JCSAR). SENTEL supports the Joint Cruise Missile Defense (JCMD) JT&E (focused on the determination and enhancement of joint service cruise missile defense capabilities) and the Joint Unmanned Aerial Vehicle in Time-Sensitive Operations (JUAV-TSO) JT&E (chartered to examine tactical applications of the UAV).
Antiterrorism/Force Protection
SENTEL also supports the Joint Anti-terrorism/Force Protection (JAT/FP) test program being conducted at the U.S. Army Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) at the Waterways Experiment Station. The JAT/FP program is examining all the resources available to the commander for personnel and facility protection and developing a guidance plan for the application of those resources to provide maximum protection. Also at the ERDC, SENTEL supports the research and test activities of the Army Structures and Hydraulics Laboratory and the Camouflage, Concealment, and Deception program.
