Test Engineering
SENTEL’s Test Engineering Group provides engineering and technical support to system acquisition, research, development, test, and evaluation activities. The group supports a wide variety of customers, primarily organizations conducting system test and evaluation. SENTEL provides Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E), Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E). The group’s capabilities cover the entire range of test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting activities.
SENTEL engineers use a proven testing approach that has been developed over many test programs. We perform a pre-test analysis to gain an understanding of the system being tested and the purpose of the test. We formulate test objectives; Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), Measures of Performance (MOPs), or Mission-level Measures (MLMs); and performance criteria. SENTEL engineers determine the data collection, reduction, analysis, and storage requirements to achieve the test objectives; we also identify alternative sources for data that are not readily available. SENTEL identifies necessary instrumentation and support equipment; evaluates and recommends test range and facility venues; and identifies, acquires, and/or develops hardware and software systems to support data collection, reduction, analysis, and archival.
