Electromagnetic Engineering

SENTEL has extensive capabilities in electromagnetic engineering, with specialized expertise in platform electromagnetic interference (EMI) including topside and below-deck EMI problem investigation. This expertise includes experience onboard more than 350 Navy ships of a variety of classes and preparation of over 200 technical test plans and formal technical reports. These efforts included the design and development, implementation, and verification of performance for the EMI suppression devices that successfully corrected EMI/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems.

SENTEL experience also includes both cosite and intersite EMC analysis involving ships, aircraft, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), ground platforms, weapons systems, radars, and communications systems. SENTEL supports the U.S. Navy's Space and Warfare Systems Command’s (SPAWAR’s) and Air Systems EMI Corrective Action Program’s (ASEMICAP’s) EMI control programs by the development of frequency deconfliction software, EMI control training, engineering liaison, and the Navy Training System Plan (NTSP) development. SENTEL also provides EMC engineering and testing support and serves as a consulting member for numerous EMC Advisory Boards (EMCABs) and to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Integrated Product Team (IPT) Team for the V-22, EA-6B3, F/A-18, AV-8B, E-2C, and SH51t-60 B/F, as well as UAV aircraft.
