Alexandria, VA – March 17, 2008 – SENTEL Corporation, a technology services company that provides the federal government and the military with engineering products and services worldwide, today announced that it has been named as a company with one of the “Best Overall Government Contractor Ethics Programs,” for its ethics and compliance initiatives.

The award was made by the Ethisphere Institute, an organization dedicated to the research, creation, and sharing of best practices in business ethics, compliance, sustainability, and corporate governance and citizenship. It comprises more than 200 corporations and other organizations. Ethisphere analyzed more than 1,000 federal government contractors. The ratings take into account new Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) rules regarding U.S. government contractors’ ethics programs, key federal sentencing guidelines -- “hallmarks”-- for effective compliance programs and industry best practices.

Ethisphere spotlighted SENTEL prominently in a number of categories:

  • #14 among the 35 best ethics programs overall
  • #2 of the five best small company ethics programs
  • #4 among the 10 best private-company ethics programs
  • One of the 10 best training and ethics programs

Darrell Crapps, President and CEO of SENTEL, said, “Ethics and compliance that meet the strictest standards are a major part of the foundation upon which this company is built. It’s one of the many reasons that our government and military clients continue to put so much confidence in the SENTEL team and know that we will deliver the excellence and results that we have promised.”

Alex Brigham, executive director of the Ethisphere Institute, said, “While there are some contractors to whom ethics means little, we have found that there are many more who rightfully pride themselves on their ethical business practices.” He added, “In undertaking this exhaustive research and ranking we have found the opportunity to highlight companies that have taken proactive measures to implement the proper controls, culture and programs to communicate company values and prevent unethical behavior. They should be a shining example to others in the industry.”
