Electronics Technician

Reports to:

JPS Field Engineer

Description:

Performs Electronic Technician support and repair on Remote Data Relays, Joint Portal Shield or Joint Biological Point Detection System, Solar Panels, Battery Charging Systems, Weather Stations, Chemical Sensors, Computers, UHF radios and antennas. Provides training on the PortWARN system to Military Personnel. This includes Global DECON truck, Macaw backpacks, DF200 and familiarity with DECON lines. Provides guidance during operation with the PortWARN system and identifies conditions that affect the health of military personnel. Assists with first response.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Experience/
Skills:

A candidate must be a US citizen qualified to get a security clearance. Must be familiar with NIOSH and OSHA standards as they pertain to toxic industrial chemicals. Ability to interact with military personnel to become part of the decision making matrix and provide input to local command on behalf of the Program Office. Ability to utilize MS Office products is a must. Must be able to use common hand tools, DVM’s hard drive cloners, current probes, RF wattmeters and crimping tools. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Preference will be given to those that currently have RDR, JPS or JBPDS and PortWARM experience. Must be able use electronic test equipment such as DVM, Oscilloscope, current probes and vacuum gauges. Experience in electronics repair and maintenance is a must. Preference will be given to individuals who have direct experience with the Joint Portal Shield Detection System.
