Business Development Professional (Engineering)

General Summary:

SENTEL Corporation is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual to serve as the Business Development lead for the company's DoD and civilian agency activities with a strong focus on the establishment of new business within SENTEL's Test Engineering Group's core practice areas and the development of other business opportunities as appropriate.

Working with top management, the Business Development lead will be responsible for the development and execution of overall business plans and development strategies to include the identification, qualification and assessment, pursuit and capture of high priority pursuits through contract award within SENTEL's government and commercial markets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers/partners

2. Develop and execute business capture strategies related with identifying new opportunities from the pre-RFP stage through proposal submission

3. Serve as the SME in the design and customer vetting of technical solutions to match the customer evaluation criteria prior to RFP release

4. Identify key discriminators, price to win, and win themes based on knowledge of customer needs and requirements, and hot buttons

5. Develop and maintain key metrics, competitive analysis, and management decision briefs on opportunities to include conducting SWOT analysis, organizational trend analysis, customer partnership/relationship assessment, and ghosting strategies to determine probability of each capture

6. Provide support to proposal and capture team, establish necessary resources and budget/funding requirements, establish timelines, and assist with proposal preparation as required

7. Other duties as assigned to meet company needs

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

1. BS/BA in Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineer or other applicable degree; combination of experience and education is acceptable
2. Must have capture and proposal management expertise; DoD operations and procurement process knowledge are highly desired.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key customers/partners, established relationships with source selection authority a plus
4. Demonstrated track record of generating new opportunities through past experience in the engineering and/or IT marketplace
5. Demonstrated understanding of FAR/DFAR and other regulations and policies associated with government procurement, contracts, modifications, and the general acquisition
6. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, marketing and communication skills are essential
