Description: |
Under the general supervision of the President and CEO, this individual will be responsible for the development of strategic establishment of new business in the company’s core practice areas and the development of other business opportunities as appropriate. This position will work closely with top management in the development and execution of overall business plans and development strategy and be responsible for the identification and qualification of new business opportunities with government and commercial markets. This individual will be responsible for providing assistance to a team of technical, managerial and other business development professionals in the support of capture and proposal managers in developing and executing capture strategies leading to contract awards. This position will require the individual to be accountable for new business results by developing and maintaining top level client and potential client and industry partner relationships. In addition the Director will also be responsible for developing, drafting and executing capture plans and management decision briefs and participating in all proposal preparation activities. |
Education: |
Bachelor’s degree in management or a technical field. MBA or a Masters in a technical field would be a plus. |

Principle duties and responsibilities include the following: 1. Develop, draft and execute business capture strategy. 2. Develop, draft and execute business capture plans. 3. Establish in conjunction with top management business strategy for business development. 4. Maintain client and potential client partner relationships. 5. Provide support to proposal and capture managers as appropriate. 6. Develop, draft and execute management decision briefs. 7. Participate in all proposal preparation activities. 8. Other business development duties as requested by top management. |
Qualifications: |
Ten to fifteen years of strong business development experience, this experience must be marketing and business and not sales. In depth knowledge of IT and Government Contracting experience is required as is a demonstrated capability in qualifying and leading the capture of business opportunities. Must participate in all proposal preparation activities. |
