Junior Systems Engineer

Alexandria, VA or Atlantic City, NJ

Reports to:

 

Program Manager

General Summary:

 

Applicant must be able to apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, and evaluate new National Airspace Systems for a Federal Aviation Administration support contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 
  1.   Providing input to technical plans, procedures, and reports during system assessments.
  2. Populating databases with data for reduction and analysis to provide a comprehensive and organized presentation to team members.  Also, search existing FAA databases to supplement data during assessments at operational facilities.
  3.     Taking direction from team leads and other support personnel to complete assignments efficiently and effectively. 
  4. Being proactive in anticipating the support needs of the support team and the client.
  5. The applicant must being willing to travel throughout the United States
  6. Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

 

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Physics, or related from an accredited college or university. Prefer three (3) years technical experience.

Certificate, Licenses, Registration, Clearance:

 

must be able to pass a basic background investigation

Computer Skills:

 

Ability to create and update documents using Microsoft products, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project

Supervision:

 

Ability to work independently, take direction, effectively communicate (both written and verbal), learn about FAA systems as well as follow processes and procedures
